Walker Buehler emerged from the plane back to Los Angeles firmly holding the World Series trophy. Upon his arrival on the steps, he lifted the trophy up over his head in celebration of the team's accomplishments. Buehler played a starring role in getting the trophy after a disappointing and challenging regular season.
Buehler's wife, McKenzie, shared it on her Instagram story. She gave a shout-out to her husband and added a few heart emojis to let her followers know how she truly felt.
Buehler and the Los Angeles Dodgers captured the World Series in five games off the back of some history. Freddie Freeman's Game 1 walk-off was the first winning walk-off grand slam in World Series history. Then they erased a five-run deficit in Game 5, the largest comeback in clinching game history.
Walker Buehler's wife McKenzie shares life update after World Series win
Things are understandably a bit hectic in the Buehler home right now. Walker Buehler just dominated en route to a Los Angeles Dodgers World Series win, throwing a shutout five innings in Game 3 to take a 3-0 lead and closing the door in the ninth on a comeback win in Game 5 to seal the series just two days later.
That all came right around Halloween, a popular family holiday. Buehler's wife McKenzie acknowledged on Instagram that there was a whole lot going on right now but that they couldn't skip out on their child's first Halloween.
She said:
"When normal life and parenting hits in the mist of winning the World Series… we just could not miss celebrating Finley's first Halloween before the craziness continues tomorrow!"
Buehler and his wife dressed their daughter up as an adorable bat for her first Halloween. They took her trick or treating and showed her outfit off to the world on social media.
Now that Halloween is over, the "craziness" that McKenzie mentioned can continue. They're back to celebrating an impressive and resounding win, the eighth in franchise history and the second for Buehler. He was part of the 2020 team that won in the condensed season.
