Walker Buehler and his wife Mckenzie Buehler are looking forward to a new challenge as the former Dodgers RHP agreed a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Red Sox for the 2025 MLB season. The deal also includes certain incentives, as reported by MLB.com's analyst Mark Feinsand.
Buehler played seven seasons with the Dodgers in the big leagues, which involved two Fall Classic titles, two All-Star nods and a maiden All-MLB First team nod in 2021.
McKenzie Buehler penned down a heartfelt note for the Dogders on social media, remembering Walker's time in Los Angeles and the memories he stitched up with his friends and family members over the years. The caption read:
"When normal life and parenting hits in the mist of winning the World Series … we just could not miss celebrating Finleys first Halloween before the craziness continues tomorrow!"
Walker Buehler had missed nearly two seasons with the Dodgers after his second Tommy John surgery in 2021. He struggled through his starts in the 2024 season but soon started to showcase his best self on the mound. After a topsy turvy regular season, he pitched decently well throughout the postseason, seeing out the World Series Game 5 against the Yankees on October 31.
His wife has provided immense support to him during his big league stint over the years. The couple have known each other since their school days and started dating in middle school before getting engaged in March 2020.
They married on Dec. 12, 2021 in a private ceremony, attended by close friends and family members. Walker and McKenzie Buehler welcomed their firstborn, a daughter, Finley Wren Buehler, on Jan. 31, 2024.
