New York Yankees icon Alex Rodriguez shares two daughters with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. A-Rod met Scurtis in the late '90s, and after dating for several years, the couple tied the knot in 2022.
Their first daughter Natasha, also known as "Tashi," was born in November 2004. Their second daughter, Ella, was born in April 2008. However, just two months later, the couple filed for divorce, ending their relationship. Despite not seeing eye-to-eye, the pair had the children's best interests at heart in terms of co-parenting their two daughters.
On Monday, Rodriguez took a moment to acknowledge his daughters' growth over time. He said he'd like to relive his daughters' earlier days as he shared old and new photos.
"Yes I know I am blessed but sometimes I wish... I could go back," A-Rod wrote in his story.
Alex Rodriguez misses his elder daughter Natasha after she starts her college career
After graduating from Ransom Everglades School, Natasha Rodriguez enrolled in the University of Michigan for the Bachelor of Fine Arts program in May 2023. A-Rod dropped her off at college, and for the first time in 18 years, one of his two girls wasn't at the dinner table, which made him a little sad.
“It's hard. For the first time in 18 years, I don't have my two girls with me at dinner,” Rodriguez told Us Weekly “The good news is I get to spend more time with [my 15-year-old], Ella. I guess there's a silver lining everywhere.”
Rodriguez also talked about how his relationship with Scurtis has evolved over the years. He praised Cynthia for doing an "incredible job" as a mom to the girls.
“I know how difficult it is. Breakups are never easy. Coparenting is never easy,” he added. “But I got to tell you, of anything that I've accomplished, my partnership with Cynthia and raising our two beautiful girls is the thing that I'm by far the most proud of.”
Rodriguez took his daughters on a European vacation this summer, and along with his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro, the group visited various locations and celebrated A-Rod's 49th birthday.
