Baseball runs in the family for Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman. The star player shared a heartwarming video of his young son Knox showing off his budding baseball skills, which Bregman playfully captioned as:

“Hurricane BP,”

In the video which was posted on Instagram, little Knox can be seen swinging a plastic bat with impressive form for his age. The toddler aims at a small plastic ball on a practice stand. With determination in his eyes, Knox swings and makes contact, sending the ball flying around the room.

Fans showered the comment section with praise for the little one, regarding him as the future of baseball, and in one of the comments, Bregman himself asked his followers to stay safe.

“🙏 for everyone and their loved ones! Stay safe!” wrote Bregman.

Knox Samuel was born in December of 2022, just two years after Bregman and Reagan got married. Bregman has been a great inspiration for Knox in baseball, but it was actually his wife, Reagan, who got their son to love the sport.

According to Chron, Bregman once revealed in an interview that his wife Reagan didn’t know much about baseball before she met him. But after they got married, she took an interest in America’s favorite pastime and eventually explained the sport to Knox.

"[Reagan] taught him a lot about baseball. She didn't know much about baseball at all when we first met really, now she loves it," said Bregman (as per Chron)

Being fueled by Knox and Reagan’s support, Bregman has been playing well of late. On Friday, in the match against the Minnesota Twins, Bregman hit a three-run home run, which helped the Astros defeat the Mets 13-12. This was his 175th home run with the Astros — the 6th most in franchise history.

Bregman's batting average this season is .251 and has 41 RBIs. He has hit 10 home runs so far this season and has an OPS of .715.

When Knox interrupted his father Alex Bregman during an interview with an adorable request

Houston Astros player Alex Bregman had a moment during a press conference after the match between the Houston Astros and Baltimore Orioles which melted everyone's hearts.

While Bregman was answering questions about the game, a tiny voice was heard from the sidelines. It was none other than his son, Knox, stealing the show with an adorable request.

In a video shared by sports reporter Brian McTaggart on X, Knox can be heard calling his father and asking him to take him out to the dugout and batting cage.

"Dada, Dada, batting cage,” said Knox. “Cage, dugout.”
“He’s been begging all weekend. He wants to go to the (batting) cage and the dugout. So we’re gonna take him to the cage and the dugout,” said Bregman during the interview.

The heartwarming moment highlights the special bond between father and son. Even with all the pressure that comes with playing professional baseball, Alex Bregman's family is his top priority. The video also showcases Knox's budding love for the game, perhaps inspired by watching his dad hit homers for the Astros.
