Kansas City has two of the biggest stars in both the NFL and MLB in Patrick Mahomes and Bobby Witt Jr. If not for another AL player having a historic season, Witt might have joined Mahomes in winning an MVP award, further showcasing the impressive star power in Kansas City right now.

These two local standouts appeared in an advertisement for Community America, a credit union in the area. The ad features Mahomes and Witt, known for their iconic hairstyles in their respective sports, getting a haircut.

The central theme of the commercial is that those who use the Community America credit union can feel like absolute superstars.

Witt had what many will call the greatest season to never win an MVP. He was one of just two players to record more than 10 fWAR, but he lagged behind Aaron Judge in most offensive categories and is likely to miss out on the award despite his impressive year.

Mahomes, a two-time MVP and three-time Super Bowl winner, is struggling this year. However, the Kansas City Chiefs remain the NFL's lone unbeaten team, so he's still one of its brightest stars.

Bobby Witt Jr. reflects on the loss in the ALDS

Bobby Witt Jr.'s phenomenal season and his team's shocking run to the playoffs came to a close in the ALDS versus the New York Yankees. As the Yankees celebrated on his field, Witt Jr. sat and watched from the dugout.

Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton eventually came over to console the shortstop, who later said via the Athletic:

“That’s where I wanna be."

He had also said before what turned out to be the Royals' final game:

“There’s very little that’s guaranteed in this game, as well as in life."

Witt and the Royals turned around a 106-loss team into a playoff squad, and the sky is the limit for both the young shortstop and his suddenly competitive team in the MLB.
