Phillies ace first baseman Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla Harper enjoyed a romantic dinner date at a traditional Hibachi restaurant on Thursday night. The ballclub had an off day after a 3-0 home series loss to the NY Yankees. Harper made the most of his day before the team left for Seattle to play the Mariners in a three-game series at T-Mobile Park.
Kayla Harper shared a video reel on Instagram story showing the duo at the restaurant while the chef showcased his fiery culinary skills. Take a look at some snippets from the video here:
Kayla and Bryce Harper are high school sweethearts despite going to different high schools. Hailing from Henderson, Nevada, they started dating after crossing paths for the first time during their school days. They got engaged in June 2016 and married on Dec. 16, 2016.
The duo are Mormons, so they had their wedding sealed in the San Diego Church of Latter-day Saints Temple. The couple welcomed their first child, Krew Aron, on Aug. 22, 2019, and their second, Brooklyn Elizabeth, on Nov. 12, 2020. On April 22, 2024, the duo welcomed their third child, a daughter, Kamryn Ray Harper.
Bryce Harper is a family man and has always talked about the positive impact his wife and kids have had on his life, both on and off the field. In an interview with the Los Angeles Radio Station in 2022, he said:
"I have an amazing family. I have an amazing wife, two beautiful kids that keep me very humbled and grounded.
"My wife takes care of the kids at home. She does a great job at that. She supports me each night, goes to every single game she can. … I'm humbled to have a wife and a family like that."
Kayla is Bryce Harper's biggest supporter both on and off the field
Bryce Harper is an eight-time All-Star and two-time NL MVP. After he was named the 2021 NL MVP, Kayla wrote a touching tribute for him on Instagram:
"I'm so dang proud of you! I've been present to watch you do some amazing things in your career, but this season has been my favorite to share with you so far. Thank you for being so fun to watch on the field and so present with our family off the field. Congrats babe. You are so deserving!"
The family of five reside in Philadelphia, where Harper has become the face of the franchise since signing a 13-year, $330 million deal with the Phillies in 2019.
