It was a homecoming of sorts for Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux on Tuesday. The 26-year-old from Kenosha, Wisconsin was plying his trade in front of a large number of friends and family since the team was battling the Milwaukee Brewers just 45 miles from his hometown.
Not only was Gavin Lux able to crack the potent Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, he was also able to put on a show for the group that was there to see him play. Lux's fans did not have to wait long before the infielder got ahold of a pitch from Brewers starter Colin Rea and drove it over the fence. While a home run is also special, this one ranked a little higher for Lux given the situation.

It was a special moment for Lux as his two-run home run helped the Los Angeles Dodgers secure an important 7-2 victory over their National League foes. The memorable home run against the Brewers was the seventh of the season for Lux and one that he won't soon forget.
"They don't get to see play at ton obviously being in California, so whenever they get the chance, I just hope I play well," Lux explained to Dodgers reporter David Vassegh
Gavin, who is the son of Heather and Tom Lux Jr., has been looking to cement himself as an everyday player for the Dodgers since entering the league with a lot of hype. Perhaps Tuesday's homer will be the start of many more to come.
Los Angeles Dodgers will need Gavin Lux to step up if they hope to secure a World Series title this season
Despite the home run on Tuesday, it has been another inconsistent season for Lux. The former first-round draft pick has shown glimpses of potential throughout his career, however, he has never been able to piece it all together on a daily basis. That being said, Lux has been enjoying the best season of his career so far thanks to his .242 batting average, seven home runs and 41 RBIs.
"Gavin Lux just homered in his home state of Wisconsin. Lux has been incredible for the Dodgers lately, this has to be super special for him" - @DodgersNation
Even though the Dodgers are one of the favorites to represent the NL in the World Series this year, they will need production from batters such as Lux when the postseason comes around. Following Amed Rosario being DFA'd by the Dodgers earlier this week, more pressure will be on Lux to step up for the team.
