Trevor Bauer continues to showcase that he is still an effective pitcher and why he believes that teams should be willing to take a shot on him. The former National League Cy Young Award winner has not pitched in the MLB since 2021, however, after a number of controversies, Bauer has continued to play baseball outside of the United States.
Since his last appearance in the MLB, Trevor Bauer has gone on to play with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan before signing with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League. It is in Mexico that Bauer has closely highlighted his outings. Bauer has been sharing a number of his performances on social media to not only prove that he can still pitch at an elite level, but also remain relevant.
"Lawn Dart Strikeout" - @BauerOutage
In a recent video that the veteran pitcher shared on his X account, Bauer can be seen racking up an impressive strikeout against one of his Mexican League opponents. The former Cincinnati Reds star used 6 pitches, combining the curveball, cutter, changeup, and fastball in order to record the strikeout.
Some MLB teams may be reluctant to sign Trevor Bauer to a contract because of the sexual assault allegations that led to his MLB career potentially coming to an end. Even though he was cleared of any criminal act, the former Dodgers starter has yet to be given another chance in the majors.
Trevor Bauer has been active on social media, making a case for why he deserves another chance in the MLB
Bauer has been incredibly active on social media, posting videos much like the one above. The former Dodgers star has continually shared videos not only of his strikeouts but also of when his opponents have gotten the better of him. The fact that he is willing to show opponents scoring against him perhaps shows a level of maturity that eluded him as a young pitcher in the MLB.
"Have a Good Monday morning Trevor Bauer... served his suspension, hasn't been found guilty, pitched well in Japan last year, is seeking the MLB minimum $, pitched well against the LAD (MiLB). Trevor Bauer deserves a shot to be back in MLB. Do you agree?" - @primalkey
It remains to be seen if Bauer will ever pitch in the MLB again, however, his constant presence online has made it impossible for his name to be forgotten. The former All-Star even said that he would be willing to sign for a minimum contract in order to get another chance. At this point, only time will tell if his MLB career is finished or not.
