New York Yankees third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. was visibly frustrated with home plate umpire Mark Carlson as the pair had a heated exchange of words in the eighth inning on Monday.

The Los Angeles Dodgers put in another dominant performance in Game 3 of the World Series, setting up the opportunity to complete a sweep in New York, winning 4-2.

Trailing 4-0 in the eighth inning, Chisholm Jr. stepped up for his fourth at bat of the night without recording a hit. The frustrated infielder exchanged words with the home plate umpire, which has gained traction on social media. Here's the video:

Jazz Chisholm Jr. was signed as an international free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2015. After three years in the minors, he was traded to the Miami Marlins in 2019 and made his major league debut the next year. He became a star player for them, earning a move to the New York Yankees in July this year.

After moving to New York, Chisholm Jr. has fit into the Yankees lineup well and played his part in their postseason run. However, in the World Series, many of the Yankees bats have hit a slump, with only Giancarlo Stanton and Juan Soto recording meaningful hits.

The pressure and frustration was clear among the Yankees players, who had no answers to the Dodgers pitchers on Monday. It reached a boiling point for Jazz Chisholm Jr. during his at bat in the eighth inning, when he got into a heated exchange with the homeplate umpire.

While it's not clear what they were arguing about, it could have been about the inconsistent strike zone from the umpire.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. enjoying Fat Joe's pregame performance in WS Game 3 at Yankee Stadium

After falling 2-0 behind in the World Series at Dodger Stadium, the New York Yankees were keen to create an electric atmosphere at home for the next three games.

They called up South Bronx rapper Fat Joe to perform before the game, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. was seen vibing to his music from the dugout.

While Chisholm Jr. seemed to enjoy Fat Joe's performance, it didn't sit well with a lot of fans, many of whom were confused that the rapper was called up to perform.
