Jack Flaherty drops the F-bomb on Manny Machado after strike out as tensions rise during Dodgers vs Padres game

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Jack Flaherty dominated San Diego Padres slugger Manny Machado in Game 2 of the already intense NLDS series. Machado, who went deep in Game 1, is already getting into trouble with several Dodgers pitchers.

After getting the better of the third baseman during Sunday's game, Flaherty was riled up, seeing off Machado from the plate.

In the top of the sixth inning with the Padres leading the game 3-1, Flaherty got into trouble early on after a hit by pitch sent Fernando Tatis Jr. to first base, followed by a bunt single by Jurickson Profar, setting up two men on bases with Machado to follow.

The two battled an intense at-bat session that included six pitches. But Jack Flaherty finally got the better of the Padres third baseman on a 94 mph four-sealed fastball going away from the hitter for a swinging strikeout. After retiring Manny Machado, the Dodgers ace sent some F-bombs as a parting gift.

"Sit the f*ck down, motherf*cker," Flaherty allegedly said.

Meanwhile, Machado had no response as he returned to the dugout with his head down.

"Back-and-forth battle all year": Manny Machado puts Game 1 loss behind him

Manny Machado was not the one to blame in the Padres' 7-5 loss against the Dodgers to start the NLDS series. The third baseman went deep for a two-run homer in the first inning off Yoshinobu Yamamoto to send the Dodgers into a 3-0 hole.

However, the Dodgers would go on to rally, first with Shohei Ohtani's three-run home run and then a two-run single by Teoscar Hernandez sealed the deal for the home team.

Talking after the game, Machado said:

"It's been like that all year; it's no surprise. You know, [it's been a] back-and-forth battle all year, and it continues today. You know, [we] came up [knowing] that they're going to come back and they're going to score runs. So, you know, we just got to keep doing what we're doing and, you know, just move on to tomorrow."

In Game 2 so far, Manny Machado hasn't been able to connect one in three plate appearances. However, the Padres hold a 4-1 lead with the bottom of the seventh inning going on at the time of writing.
