Miami Marlins 3B Jake Burger celebrated his bobblehead day with wife Ashlyn Burger and son Brooks on Sunday at Loan Depot Park. The star of the show ahead of the series finale between Miami and the New York Mets was Jake Burger's toddler son, Brooks.
He was accompanied by his mom, Ashlyn, right in front of the home plate to throw the ceremonial first pitch as Jake played the role of the batter to catch his son's pitch.
Take a look at the heartwarming moment shared between the Burgers here:
Jake and Ashlyn Burger dated for a long time before announcing their wedding via a post on X (formerly Twitter) in July 2022.
"Sometimes you got to wake up and marry your best friend," wrote Ashlyn Burger announcing her wedding with thrid baseman Jake Burger.
While Jake continued his big league career after getting traded to the Marlins from the White Sox last August, his wife Ashlyn is a technology entrepreneur. She is also the founder and owner of a real estate firm called Archives Homes.
She started working right after high school. She also founded the Goldfinger Technology Corporation in 2008, which specializes in manufacturing semiconductors for other electronic appliances.
Jake Burger and his wife Ashlyn Burger welcomed their firstborn son, Brooks Jacob, on November 11, 2022, a little over three months after their private wedding nuptials.
Marlins fans erupted with joy as they celebrated Brooks throwing the ceremonial pitch to his father as Jake embraced his son. Ashlyn also joined the frame to get adorable pictures taken before Miami took to the field in an attempt to sweep the Mets in the three-game series at home.
Mets spoiled Jake Burger's bobblehead day and avoided the sweep against the Marlins on Sunday
Miami Marlins third baseman Jake Burger went hitless in the series finale against the Mets on his bobblehead day on Sunday.
New York won the contest 7-3 to avoid a series sweep against their NL East rivals. Burger has not had a productive year with Miami so far this season, as the Marlins sit dead last in the NL East standings with a 16-33 record.
After their intra-divisional series win against the NY Mets, Miami started their three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers with a win on Monday night by a scoreline of 3-2.
