St. Louis Cardinals ace Lance Lynn became only the sixth active pitcher to reach 2,000 strikeouts. He achieved this feat in Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park.
His team managed to land rookie sensation Paul Skenes his first loss in the majors with the Cardinals winning the game 2-1. Lynn pitched five scoreless innings, recording two strikeouts while allowing two hits and three walks.
Lynn's wife Dynim was in attendance at PNC Park and when the pitcher struck out Jared Triolo to end the fourth inning. She danced off the moment and even shared her excitement on social media.
"When your husband gets his 2000th strikeout," she wrote in her story.
In his 12th year in the pros, Lance Lynn became just the 89th pitcher in major league history to eclipse the 2000 strikeouts mark.
After dating for three years, Lance Lynn married Dynim on January 18, 2020, at Graystone Quarry in Tennessee. The couple share four children between them. Earlier during a Family Day at Busch Stadium, Lynn accompanied by his wife and three children was in attendance for a fun day.
“Family is everything to me, and days like these remind me why it’s so important to cherish these moments together,” she wrote.
Lance's first child, Mia Jane Lynn, was born on February 16, 2012, from his marriage to ex-wife Lauren Gill-Lynn. Lynn and Dynim have two girls, Lively Michael Lynn (born February 23, 2019) and Rumer Elizabeth Lynn (born October 22, 2020), and one son, Judge Ryder Lynn (born October 26, 2022).

In baseball, it's a ritual to keep the baseball whenever a milestone is achieved for a player, whether it'd be his first strikeout, first hit, or for Lance Lynn, his 2,000th strikeout ball.
Lynn first struck out Nick Gonzales in the third inning and added one more the following to reach the milestone. Accidentally, Willson Contreras, the catcher behind the plate, threw the ball to the stands.
Upon realizing that it was Lynn's 2000th strikeout ball, the Cardinals catcher asked for the ball back in exchange for a bat.
The Lynn family, who was present at the ballpark would certainly be happy with the fan.
