In yet another hilarious moment inside the pressbox during a gameday, Athletics MLB broadcaster Dallas Braden completed a funny dare by his wife. The dare warranted him to sing Sabrina Carpenter's famous track while commentating during Thursday's series finale between the A's and the Mariners.
In a video reel, Braden's wife says:
"Day 2 of daring my husband who is a broadcaster for a baseball team to say something on air. This one's fun."
The video cuts to the segment of Braden voicing the verse from Sabrina Carpenter's song while on air in the pressbox as he says:
"I tell you heartbreak is one thing, my ego's another and..."
The video again cuts back to Braden's wife, who says:
"But what's even better is his partner caught on and added to it."
Braden's MLB broadcasting partner in the pressbox completed the lyrics:
"So the A's are saying please don't embrass me brother."
At this point in the video, Braden's wife asks her followers to comment suggesting the next dare for her husband while on air during an Athletics gameday.
"Comment what he should say next," she says.
Take a look at the video of the dare here:
The Oakland Athletics were 2-1 heading into the fourth and final game of the series at home against the Mariners on Thursday. They couldn't get themselves over the line in the series finale, losing the contest 6-4, and with it the spoils of the series.
Continuing their seven-game homestand, the A's were set to take on the Tigers at the Oakland Coliseum next in the MLB.
The Athletics won the series opener against the Tigers in extra innings on Friday night
In an exciting series opener against the Tigers, the Athletics won 7-6 after their left fielder Seth Brown's RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning. Brown's single helped center fielder JJ Bleday score the winning run. Overall, it was a strong outing by the Oakland bullpen.
The Athletics will look to win Game 2 on Saturday night to complete a home series win, but they are yet to announce a starter. They are currently 61-80 in the 2024 MLB season and have no chance of clinching a wildcard spot. Nevertheless, they will look to register some wins and end their MLB campaign on a high.
