Philadelphia Phillies slugger Nick Castellanos often brings his son Liam for pre-game practice, and Wednesday was no different. Ahead of the Phillies game against the San Diego Padres at Citizens Bank Park, Liam was spotted taking swings at the plate.

Standing behind the home plate cage was Castellnaos, who was watching his son crush baseballs. The few swings Liam took were hard hits, and it won't be surprising if Castellanos becomes a future baseball player.

Tim Kelly from the Phillies Nation shared snippets from the ballpark.

Nick Castellanos welcomed his son Liam on Aug. 1, 2013, with his ex-wife Vanessa Hernandez. The couple divorced four years later, with the Phillies star marrying Jessica Gomez and welcoming a son, Otto, in 2022.

Liam lives with his mother Hernandez in Florida but comes to Philadelphia for the summers and is a regular supporter of Citizens Bank Park.

Nick Castellanos thinks his son Liam can follow in his footsteps one day

"Bloodlines are a real thing," and so thinks Nick Castellanos who feels that Liam can one day follow in his footsteps.

“I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind,” Nick told the MLB. “It doesn’t guarantee anything. But look at the greatest players in the game right now.
"You’ve got (Bo) Bichette, you’ve got Vladimir Guerrero (Jr.), you’ve got Fernando Tatis (Jr.). You know? Bloodlines are a real thing.” [via People].

Moreover, the environment that Nick has for Liam is one to aspire for. Liam has also seen Roger Clemens pitch to him in June 2023.

“It’s a cool environment,” Nick told the MLB in May 2022. “He gets to meet a lot of adults, so he learns to talk to a lot of adults. He learns how to be put in his place if he touches other people’s stuff or whatever. It’s a place where there can be a lot of growth.”

Nick often shares Liam's batting clips on social media and by the looks of it, he could become a budding baseball prospect.

“I’ve kind of grown up at the stadium,” Liam said in the Father's Day video. “I started doing some stuff when I was just born. At that point, my dad would chuck ping pong balls at me.”

In a separate interaction, Nick Castellanos said that he doesn't want to force any profession on his son and that he wants Liam to enjoy and have fun.
