Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne attended the 2024 ESPY held on Thursday night in Los Angeles. As she walked down the red carpet in her golden dress, she touched upon some lesser-known details about the Pittsburgh Pirates rookie.
Dunne revealed that Skenes is a "good chef." She also mentioned that, despite it not seeming so, the 2023 first-overall pick is a "goofy guy."
"Paul's hidden talent? He's a chef. He is a very good cook," Dunne said.
Olivia Dunne is enjoying a great year with Skenes. The Baton Rouge couple won big for their college, with Skenes winning the College World Series last year and Dunne doubling it down by winning the NCAA title in gymnastics with fellow Lady Tigers. More so, Dunne was with the Skenes to celebrate his Major League debut earlier this year.
Off the field, Dunne featured in the 60th anniversary of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and signed a one-of-a-kind NIL deal with 'Passes,' a content monetization platform. Moreover, she is returning to LSU to defend the NCAA crown in her fifth and final year.
Olivia suggests an iconic Sports Illustrated cover with her beau Paul Skenes
During the interview near the red carpet of the 2024 ESPY, Olivia Dunne said a dual cover with Paul Skenes would be iconic.
"I never even thought of that, but I think that you should tell Sports Illustrated because that would be pretty iconic," Dunne said at the event.
While Dunne was sharing the spotlight with other athletes at the ESPYs, Paul Skenes almost pulled off a no-hitter against the Brewers in his latest start. He pitched seven innings for one walk and 11 strikeouts before being pulled by manager Derek Shelton who cited workload issues.
Skenes, wasn't much disappointed in being pulled off, saying he understood the decision and was tired.
“I wasn't going to be surprised either way if he sent me out or pulled me…Obviously, in a 1-0 game, you want to stay in there, you want to finish it, but the volume's getting up there a little bit, so I get it,” Skenes said in a post game interview.
Olivia Dunne, too, had a one-word reaction to his start: "Slay." Skenes will be the National League starter for the All-Star game at Globe Life Field on July 16.
