After spending the last week celebrating MLB Awards where her beau Paul Skenes won the NL Rookie of the Year and came third in NL Cy Young voting, LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is back in the LSU gym preparing for the upcoming season, which will be her fifth and last in college landscape.
Dunne has used social media to share regular updates from her preparation. Whether it's showing off her artistic skills on the floor or amazing her viewers with her flexibility on a beam, her posts often garners attention.
On Sunday, Dunne posted a video of herself in leotard showing her flexibility on balance beam (a gymnastic apparatus). She was performing a handstand on a balance beam. The gymnast demonstrated excellent strength, balance and control, holding her body in a straight vertical line.
Along with Olivia Dunne, LSU has a good chance to repeat as NCAA champions in the upcoming season, with Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock and Alyona Shchennikova also returning for their final seasons.
Olivia Dunne speaks on her followers wanting Paul Skenes' content
Olivia Dunne is a popular social media star, with the same reflecting on her NIL value (close to $4 million). On Instragram alone, she has over five million followers and in this year, her audience has likened her relationship with Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes.
“My social media has changed a bit because my audience that follows me also loves Paul,” Dunne told Glamour.
“I have a lot of people come up to me in person and people tell me how much they love Paul, and I’m like, ‘Me too!’ I feel like people just like to cheer him on with me, and my social media has definitely grown. The MLB is a really big community and it’s been fun.”
Dunne and Paul Skenes had a fabulous year. Starting in April, Dunne won the NCAA championship, joining her husband, who helped their alma mater raise the banner in their respective fields.
In May, Skenes made his MLB debut. During Mid-July, the star couple turned heads at the MLB All-Star game red carpet. And then, most recently, she made an appearance by Skenes' side during the MLB awards.
On the business front, she signed NIL deals with Nautica and Passes, adding to her already impressive portfolio, which is only going to increase in her fifth and final season.
