Pirates rookie ace pitcher Paul Skenes has been showcasing his amazing pitching prowess in the ongoing MLB season. But the six-foot-six 22-year-old right-handed pitcher isn't just good in baseball. He showed a trailer of that on the sets of BarstoolSports, where he was invited as a guest on the 'Pardon My Take' podcast and also ran the gauntlet.
Skenes was in Chicago as the Pirates took on the Cubs in a three-game series. He was invited to the BarstoolSports office in Chicago, where he participated in an array of fun-filled activities before settling down for the podcast. Take a look at the videos here:
In the gauntlet event, Paul Skenes completed an array of tasks pertaining to different sports, starting off with Cornhole, where he managed one sack through the hole in his ninth attempt. From there, he rushed to kick the soccer ball and succeeded at the second time of asking by slotting the ball into the net.
Next, he crushed a baseball using a plastic bat and quickly threw a football through a Bodyarmor sports drink cutout in his second attempt. He proceeded to shoot some hoops and scored in either basket. Finally, he answered some rapid-fire questions to complete the gauntlet.
Paul Skenes also indulged in discussions with the host and anchors on the podcast 'Pardon My Take' to complete an eventful day in Chicago. It wasn't the only thing that the rookie did in Windy City, as he even pitched in Game 2 against the Cubs on Tuesday.
The starter registered a win after shutting down the Cubs 5-0. Skenes pitched five scoreless innings, giving up four hits and four walks while striking out six batters to register his ninth win of the campaign with the Pirates.

Paul Skenes will take to the mound next in the series opener against the Marlins at home in PNC Park on Monday. This will be his 16th start against a NL team this season, and he has been highly impressive against them.
The Pirates are 66-76 for the season and dead-last in the NL Central, way off from securing the last wildcard berth. Nevertheless, they will continue to rely on their pitching ace to finish the season strong.
Paul is the frontrunner for the NL rookie award this season and commands a healthy ERA of 2.13 with 142 strikeouts and 0.98 WHIP.
