Shohei Ohtani, excited about the 2024 All-Star Game
Shohei Ohtani has been selected four times as an All-Star throughout his major league career. Discussing the upcoming game, he said (starting at 1:36):
“Everybody on the roster is amazing. I’m really looking forward to facing pretty much everybody… I’ve been here several times and It’s really a great atmosphere for me personally but I also think for the entire baseball industry. So I’m really looking forward to just being here.”
The Los Angeles Dodgers have lost six of their last seven games. The club’s injury-riddled roster can be seen as a contributor to their struggles. Many of their players, such as Clayton Kershaw, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Tyler Glasnow, are recovering from injuries.
When asked about his expectations for the team after the All-Star break, Ohtani said (starts at 3:44):
“It’s been a tough stretch, last several games before entering the All Star games. I think this All Star break is a really good opportunity to kind of reset and for all the injured players to return.
So I think it’s going to be a really good opportunity for us to be able to kind of head into the second half and really looking forward to getting more players back from the injured list.”
After losing their series to the Detroit Tigers, the Dodgers will start a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox on Friday at Dodger Stadium.
