WATCH: Shohei Ohtani belts a dinger against Australia as two-way superstar continues to take 2023 WBC by storm

Team Japan superstar Shohei Ohtani continues to dazzle fans at the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The 29-year-old from Iwate is in the form of his life. Ohtani has been one of MLB's star players over the previous four seasons and is now showing what he can do on the international level.

Japan have won all three of their opening games and have recorded victories over China, Korea and the Czech Republic. They have scored a whopping 31 runs and allowed just seven.

Team Australia were next on the schedule and Shohei Ohtani came out firing. The sell-out crowd at the Tokyo Dome looked on anxiously as he approached the plate with two men on base. Ohtani did not disappoint.

The three-run shot to right field in the first inning was Ohtani's first World Baseball Classic home run.

Over a four-game stretch, Ohtani already has six hits, five runs, seven RBIs and a home run. All that over just 11 at-bats.

He currently leads Team Japan is batting average (.545), OBP (.706), slugging (1.091) and OPS (1.797).

Led by Shohei Ohtani, Team Japan is rolling. Japan have started strong and impressed over the tournament. If the Los Angeles Angels star can continue his stellar form, they could be on the path to a record third World Baseball Classic title.
