Home runs have been a common occurrence in the 2024 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees as Teoscar Hernandez added his name to this growing list on Saturday. The Dodgers outfielder smashed a two-run homer off Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon to drive his team into the lead in Game 2 of this year's Fall Classic.
Dodgers Nation posted a short clip of the video on X, formerly Twitter. The score was tied at 1-1 when Teoscar Hernandez came up to the plate in the bottom of the third inning, with the Dodgers having a man on base after a couple of outs. Mookie Betts had reached first base on a single to left field when he faced Yankees starter Carlos Rodon in the previous at-bat.
On a 1-0 count, Rodon delivered a high fastball at 98 mph, but it landed right over the middle of the strike zone and right into the swinging arc of Hernandez. The Dodgers right-hander powered a towering shot to the opposite field that landed on the bleachers beyond the right field wall for a two-run homer.

Freddie Freeman follows up Teoscar Hernandez with back-to-back homers for Dodgers
Teoscar Hernandez stamped his mark on the World Series with his two-run homer just as Freddie Freeman did the previous night with a walk-off grand slam against the New York Yankees to win Game 1 for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Freeman dealt another body blow to the Yankees on Saturday night by following Hernandez with another home run to extend the Dodgers' lead to three runs.
Carlos Rodon had racked up two strikes on Freddie Freeman before the Dodgers southpaw got up to a full count. For the sixth pitch of the at-bat, the Yankees left-hander threw a 97-mph four-seamer on the upper edge of the strike zone.
Freeman anticipated the heater coming and pulled a high line drive over the left field wall for his second home run of the World Series.
