Teoscar Hernandez has played an important supporting role in a star-studded Los Angeles Dodgers lineup. On Tuesday, Hernandez even extended his help to a ball boy while he was inside the batter's box.

However, his act of kindness at Dodger Stadium turned out to be somewhat misplaced and it produced a hilarious moment featuring the reigning Home Run Derby champion.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were playing at home against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday in the second matchup of their four-game series. In the latter stages of the game, Hernandez was standing at the plate when a pitch from a Giants reliever was missed by the catcher, and the ball happened to end up near the batter's feet.

A ballboy came rushing out from the third base side to collect it while the umpire handed the catcher a new one to resume the game. Meanwhile, Hernandez decided to help the ball boy by tossing the dirty ball to him.

However, the ballboy already had his hands full, and he ended up spilling all the balls that he carried during his failed attempt at catching the ball thrown by the Dodgers star.

Teoscar Hernandez produced one of his trademark beaming smiles at his gaffe, which not only reflected his amusement at the little incident but also an ease of contentment over his stature in this Dodgers team.

The 31-year-old outfielder signed a one-year, $23.5 million deal at the start of the season, and he has proven to be worth every penny.

Hernandez went 1-2 on Tuesday while earning two walks and scoring a run in the 5-2 victory for the Dodgers against their division rivals. In the opening game of the series, he went 3-4 with a home run and drove in all the runs for his team to earn a 3-2 win over the Giants.

Teoscar Hernandez has a .269/.334/.491 slashline with an OPS of .825 while he has also recorded 20 doubles and 21 home runs this season. The Dominican slugger also earned the second All-Star selection of his career, and he capped it off by winning the 2024 MLB Home Run Derby.
