WATCH: Trevor Bauer battles Angels top prospect Christian Moore in epic at-bat

Trevor Bauer may be better known now among fans for his presence on social media as opposed to his performances on the field at this point. The former National League Cy Young Award winner has seen his followers continue to grow thanks to the amusing videos and clips that he posts on his social media accounts.

Despite not pitching in Major League Baseball since 2021, Bauer remains a popular name among fans, especially during this offseason as there are a number of teams looking for starting pitching. Although his history of MLB success is a reason for this attention, his ability to use his personality and social media presence to remain relevant is unmatched.

In one of his latest posts, the former Los Angeles Dodgers star took part in a live at-bat against one of the Los Angeles Angels' top prospects, Christian Moore. The eighth pick of the 2024 MLB draft, Moore is a force at the plate, posting a whopping .347 batting average with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 25 games last season in Single-A and Double-A.

While the pair took part in multiple at-bats during their social media encounter, during the one that Trevor Bauer posted, the former Cincinnati Reds ace got the better of the prospect.

After missing the strike zone on the first pitch, Bauer got back into action by throwing two straight strikes. On the second strike, the Angels prospect swung and missed. However, his incredible bat speed and power impressed not only Trevor Bauer but fellow baseball social media personality Eric Sim, aka The King of Juco.

"Man, that's some barrel speed right there. If he hits that, that's going way further than Eric can hit it," Bauer said of Christian Moore's swing.

On a 1-2 count, Bauer was looking for another dramatic swing and miss. However, this didn't turn out to be the case. While Moore was ultimately caught looking at the third strike, Bauer was unable to record his "sword" celebration that he uses following a huge swinging miss.

Although it was not in the video that Trevor Bauer opted to post on his social media account, Moore's minor league team, the Rocket City Trash Pandas, posted a video of the young slugger getting his payback.

On an 0-2 count, the Los Angeles Angels prospect got all of a pitch from Bauer, sending those in attendance to their feet. According to the video tracker that they used during the at-bats, Moore's monster shot off Bauer soared over the fence in left field, more than making up for the strikeout he suffered earlier. It may not be the audition tape that Bauer will want to use if he hopes to return to the majors.
