Houston Astros star Yordan Alvarez is one of the most fearsome sluggers on the road this season but has struggled for home runs at his home ballpark Minute Maid Park. He finally broke his drought with not one, but two home runs during Sunday's game against the Kansas City Royals with a special fan in the stands.

Yordan Alvarez's wife Mia and younger child, Jordan, were in attendance at Minute Maid Park for the series finale against the Royals.

Jordan predicted his father's first home run of the game right before the three-time All-Star saw a pitch from the Royals' Alec Marsh in the fourth inning and deposited it over the right field fence for his 29th home run of the season.

It was the former ALCS MVP's first home run at Minute Maid Park since June 22, going 105 at-bats without a homer at home. He smoked another home run in the sixth for a multi-homer game.

“When I hit the ball [in the fourth], there was a stress that just left me,” Alvarez said per MLB.com. “Obviously, it had been a while. I hadn’t been hitting the ball hard [enough] for homers here, so I hit that one, and then came the other one and almost a third one came. Hopefully, that bad streak is gone now.”

The Astros slugger is blessed with two children, an elder daughter Mia, born in 2018 and a son, Jordan, in 2021 with his wife Mia.

Yordan Alvarez joins prestigious list after multi-home run game

Yordan Alvarez etched his name into the history books after his two home runs in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Royals. It was his 21st multi-home run game in the MLB, making him the fourth most prolific Cuban-born player.

He overtook his former Astros teammate Jose Abreu's record of 20 multi-homer games. The former Rookie of the Year trails only Jose Canseco (36 multi-home run games), Rafael Palmeiro (34), and Kendrys Morales (22).

Alvarez has tallied 30 home runs in four consecutive seasons for the Astros and his latest multi-home run game helped Houston sweep the Royals to make it four wins on the trot. However, the Astros fell to a disappointing 5-3 loss against the Cincinnati Reds in the series opener on Monday.
