Los Angeles Dodgers ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto wasted no time establishing his dominance in the MLB. Comfortably the most decorated pitcher in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball in the past decade, Yamamoto decided to take his talents stateside after inking a 12-year, $325 million deal with the Dodgers ahead of this year.
Like other greats of any other sport or profession, the ace also has a unique way of preparing for his job. In a video posted by the MLB on Instagram, Yamamoto throws mini javelins in the Dodger Stadium warning track.

The 26-year-old first twirls before softly throwing the mini-javelin with a high arc. Fans commented on the post that however peculiar Yamamoto's routine is, it's certainly working as the ace is delivering on the field.
In his previous start in this year's postseason, the Japanese superstar was clutch in a win against the San Diego Padres, posting an impressive five innings of two-hit, one walk, two strikeouts and no-run ball in the NLDS decider.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto's affection for handbags
His pitching routine is certainly not the only quirk that Yoshinobu Yamamamoto has. The three-time NPB Pacific League MVP also has another peculiar hobby — collecting handbags.
During this year's opening series in Seoul, South Korea, the Los Angeles Dodgers starter carried a custom blue and white Birkin handbag.
"Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s a handbag enthusiast. Who knew?" - @ Stacie M Wheeler
Fans stateside were surprised when they saw Yamamoto rocking an accessory that is more closely affiliated with the opposite gender. However, fans in his home country of Japan have always known his affinity for luxurious purses.
Aside from collecting handbags and purses, Yamamoto also possesses other expensive items such as watches. It certainly seems that the pitcher has a knack for the finer things in life. With the performance he's shown everywhere he's gone, Yamamoto has certainly earned the right to spend the money he has obtained from the big-money contracts he's signed.
