Mike Trout and Team USA were right off the blocks against Canada as they took a 12-1 lead by the end of the second inning at the Chase Field Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona. Trout homered on a three-run home run as he hit a low fastball to left field.
Team USA, with a star studded batting lineup, raced to a nine-run lead in the first innings. Nolan Arenado started the scoring with 2 RBIs, with Mookie Betts and Trout completing. After four straight single RBIs, Cedric Mullins and Betts were at first and third base respectively. Trout came in for his second at-bat and struck his first homer of the game.
