Team Japan cruised into the second round of the 2023 World Baseball Classic after another victory on Saturday night. The 10-2 win over Team Czech Republic places Japan firmly in the drivers seat in Pool B. The blowout win means they have scored 31 runs and allowed just seven over their three games.

With qualification for the next round secured, Japan will now set their sights on some of the big fish in the tournament. The United States will begin their title defense against Great Britain tonight in Phoenix. The Dominican Republic will face Venezuela on Saturday in a battle between two of the tournament's heavyweights. Japan, however, are the early frontrunners.

WBC fans took to Twitter to discuss Japan's landslide victory over the Czech Republic. Fans remain split on whether this team has enough talent to go all the way. While many were impressed with their offense, some fans still aren't sold on this Japanese team.

Team Japan have dominated in all three of their games. Shohei Ohtani was the star in their opening 8-1 demolition of Team China. Team Korea was not able to put up much of a fight versus a rampant offense and fell 13-4.

The pitchers led the way in the team's 10-2 win over the Czech Republic. Led by Roki Sasaki, Japan gave up just two runs and four hits on the night.

It's important to note that the United States, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic are yet to play a game.

The United States are the defending champions and have a long list of talented stars. Team USA has an abundance of talent on the offensive side. Mike Trout, Mookie Betts and Paul Goldschmidt are all former MVPs.

The Dominican Republic are many people's favorites to win it all. The lineup is staked from top to bottom with a combination of experienced veterans and young stars.

Team Japan is the only nation to win multiple World Baseball Classics. They won the trophy in 2006 and again in 2009.

Japan may have started strong, but they have not been tested yet. They will see some difficult opponents as the tournament progresses.
