On Wednesday, Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea opened up a Q&A session on social media, where she revealed lesser-known details about her relationship with the Dodgers first baseman. A fan asked the first baseman's wife to reveal how the couple met.

Chelsea not only answered the primary question, but she also went on to reveal the ups and downs of their relationship.

"We met when I was 19 and he was 21," Chelsea wrote in her story. "I was in college at UCF and he was in Orlando for Braves spring training. We were babiesss. I liked that he was tall & funny but we were just long distance texting friends for almost 6 months before we started "dating". We did long distance the first 2 years and it was harddd."

She also mentioned that the long-distance relationship took a toll on their relationship, leading them to break up once or twice.

"We broke up once or twice in that time. I moved to GA when I was 22 and we got a lot more serious. We got engaged the following year and then married when I was 23. This November will be our 10 year wedding anniversary," she added.

Freddie Freeman and Chelsea began dating in June 2011. By that time, Freddie was already playing for the Atlanta Braves, who drafted him in 2007. After Chelsea graduated from college, the couple got engaged in 2014. In November of the same year, the duo tied the knot.

Chelsea and Freddie Freeman are parents to three sons. They welcomed Charlie in 2016. They then had Brandon John and Maximus Turner in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

During the same Q&A, Chelsea was also asked what it's like to be an MLB wife. With no filter, she went on with how she navigates and keeps up with her husband's 162-game season. However, she is grateful that Freddie Freeman has been part of two of the best MLB franchises: the Atlanta Braves and the LA Dodgers.

"Being an MLB wife is a wild ride," Chelsea wrote. "A very small percentage is glamorous and most of the behind the scenes are the opposite. The schedule is grueling. The pressure on your husband every day is intense. It can be really lonely especially before kids because the guys are always gone and you are usually far from your family/friends. They have 162 games a season so it's games almost every day.
"I try to take any stress that I can off of Freddie during season so he can just focus on baseball. At the same time it is pretty surreal to see your husband live his dream and compete at the highest level. We have been SO lucky to play for two iconic and first class organizations (Braves Dodgers). They both go out of their way for their players and their families."

She further added that baseball has given her and the boys iconic memories—something they can fall back on during tough times.
