Though there's uncertainty regarding Alex Bregman's future with the Houston Astros beyond this season, his wife Reagan is making sure to serve the community every now and then.
The Bregman family has been in Houston since the third baseman made his MLB debut in 2016. Reagan was working with Google in Austin when she first met Bregman, and the two are very closely related to the community.
On National Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine Day on Oct. 24, Thursday, Reagan announced a special giveaway for the Houston community through the Instagram account Wellness by Reagan Bregman. Reagan interviews specialists from different areas on the page.
She said:
"With today being National Acupuncture Day, we are doing a giveaway for an initial assessment and acupuncture at Temple Wellness in Houston.
"So excited about this. If you're interested in trying acupuncture or haven't tried it, I just did my initial assessment, and she looks at your tongue and listens to your heartbeat and then like does acupuncture for what your needs are."
Alex Bregman's wife Reagan invites guest to explain acupuncture
Reagan invited Dr. Sarah Anzola on Wellness by Reagan Bregman to learn more about how acupuncture treatment helps reduce stress and keeps the body in a good state.
"It works on your nervous system," Dr. Anzola said. "When we insert the needles, we're stimulating your nervous system, putting you into a parasympathetic state of rest and digest. The nervous system sends signals to your brain, and your brain responds by releasing endorphins — the feel-good hormones. So usually, after acupuncture, people feel relaxed or like they're floating.
"Another way acupuncture works is by stimulating blood circulation, decreasing inflammation, among other benefits. Acupuncture helps break up that energy and move it, allowing you to be energetically rebalanced."
Reagan will likely continue to help her community with more such giveaways and interviews. She has also been enjoying the offseason with Alex Bregman and their son Knox, who, the couple announced, will be getting a little brother next year.
