The Houston Astros could be one of the surprise teams that come in and acquire Juan Soto out of nowhere. Currently, the two sides have not reportedly met, but that does not mean they should be ruled out.
Houston would be an interesting destination for the top free agent in the class. Soto would be an exciting addition to a team that already has the talent to do big things in 2025.
If they acquired Soto, they would strike fear into many opposing pitching staffs. From Jose Altuve to Yordan Alvarez, here is what Houston's lineup could look like next season featuring Soto.
- Jose Altuve
- Juan Soto
- Kyle Tucker
- Yordan Alvarez
- Jeremy Pena
- Yanier Diaz
- Jon Singleton
- Shay Whitcomb
- Jake Meyers
That is certainly a lineup that could do some serious damage. Soto could hit in the two-spot, allowing Alvarez to bring in some big knocks with runners on base.
The Houston Astros have more on their mind than Juan Soto this winter
The Houston Astros have come into the offseason in fear of losing their two-time All-Star slugger Alex Bregman. The two sides could not agree on an extension, and he became a free agent when the season ended.
"Thank you Houston" said Bregman.
While the 'Stros are still in play here, another team could jump the gun and give Bregman what he is looking for. Somebody like the New York Yankees could be an option for the slugger. They could use an upgrade at third base and could shift Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second.
For Houston, it seems more likely they would target Bregman before trying to acquire Juan Soto. However, crazier things have happened during the offseason, and fans will just have to wait and see how this plays out.
