Trevor Bauer has never been one to hide his feelings both on and off the field. While most of the time, Bauer will share that emotion with his opponents or teammates, sometimes he will even impress himself with what he can accomplish with a baseball in his hand.
This was the case for the former Cy Young Award winner in his latest post on social media. Trevor Bauer shared a video of him going toe-to-toe with the popular baseball social media personality Eric Sim, also known as the King of Juco. The pair have made plenty of content together, with the former MLB superstar and Sim trash-talking one another during at-bats.
Even though the former Los Angeles Dodgers star can hit the high 90s with the fastball, it's his ability with deceptive offspeed pitches that he has made a living. During his recent stint in the Mexican League with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico, Bauer used his curveball to rack up strikeout after strikeout en route to being named the Mexican League Pitcher of the Year.
Despite his excellent curveball, it was a disgusting sweeper pitch that left both Bauer and Sim in awe. During one of their at-bats, Sim swung and missed so hard at an offspeed pitch that they had to stop the at-bat to sort out how much break was on the throw.
"That was f*****g disgusting," Sim said in frustration after missing.
"I got the feel for it now. What was the horizontal on that? 20 inches horizontal, the first one was 24 horizontal," Bauer told Sim after the brutal swing and miss.
After hearing this, Sim paused the showdown, asking Trevor Bauer if he had anything on his hands, referring to a sticky substance such as Spider Tack. Unfortunately for the King of Juco, Bauer had nothing on his fingers, it was just an elite pitch from the former Cincinnati Reds ace.
Trevor Bauer challenged Eric Sim to a Deal or No Deal style showdown
As part of the social media rivalry between Bauer and Sim, Trevor set up an at-bat challenge based on the hit televison game show "Deal or No Deal." Bauer explained that the pair would make 10 at-bats against one another, stating that if Sim were to win, Bauer would be his personal assistant for 24 hours.
On the other side of the competition, if Bauer were to win, there would be 10 briefcases set up like the show, and after each at-bat, a case would be eliminated. Although he never stated what would be inside the cases, Trevor Bauer explained that he heard that some of the cases were positive and some were negative.
