According to both Jon Morosi and Randy Miller, Boston was one of five teams that offered Soto a contract. The other four teams include the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, New York Yankees, and Toronto Blue Jays.

While the contract offer has not been made public, it may not have been a great initial offer. According to MLB insider Hector Gomez, Boston has already increased their original offer.
