When Alex Rodriguez pressurized Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch for secret PED that aided Manny Ramirez's power surge

New York Yankees legend Alex Rodriguez was a star MLB player, but due to his own mistakes, A-Rod could not get into the Baseball Hall of Fame. One of the biggest reasons was his involvement in the biogenesis drug scandal.

Rodriguez admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs in 2013 in the PED scandal and was subsequently suspended from MLB for 162 games. Other players, including Manny Ramirez, were also involved.

It was once revealed that Rodriguez asked his supplier to find him PEDs, which aided Ramirez. As reported by CBS NEWS in 2014, Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch said:

"The first words out of his (Alex Rodriguez) mouth were, you know, what did Manny Ramirez take in 2008 and 2009? What were you giving him-- what-- what were you giving Manny Ramirez?"

According to Bosch, Ramirez approached him when he was 35 and virtually doubled his home runs the next season. After a positive drug test in 2011, Ramirez announced his retirement. Rodriguez, according to Bosch, wanted to know the secret of Ramirez's unexpected performance surge.

Rodriguez, who was subjected to intense hostility and contempt from the MLB community, became the face of the steroid era. The Yankees star was shut out of the 2014 campaign. Bosch, A-Rod's drug supplier, was also given a four-year prison term.

Rodriguez wrote a two-page, handwritten apology letter to the MLB community after the incident was over. The message said:

"I take full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension for the 2014 season," Rodriguez wrote.
