When will Derek Jeter join FOX's MLB coverage?

Derek Jeter announced a move to the FOX broadcasting crew ahead of the Super Bowl. That was almost two full months ago, but Jeter hasn't yet joined an official MLB on FOX game yet. When will he join their coverage team?

Per the New York Post, Jeter is slated to join their crew in June. He's expected to debut during the London series and then work the All-Star Game this year.

Ahead of that move, the broadcast company has fired a longtime member of their crew to make room. Frank Thomas, who had been on the team for a decade, was ousted in favor of the legendary New York Yankees shortstop.

Following the All-Star Game, Jeter will return to the FOX crew for the entire postseason and presumably will be a full-time member like Alex Rodriguez and David Ortiz for the 2024 season and beyond.

Jeter had been sought after by other broadcast networks, including the Yankees' own YES Network. Ultimately, he ended up with the FOX team and Frank Thomas was removed as a result.

When did Derek Jeter retire?

Despite briefly being a front office executive with the Miami Marlins, Derek Jeter has largely been out of the baseball eye since he retired. Following the 2014 season, the longtime Yankee captain retired.

He spent almost two full decades as the Yankees shortstop before stepping away but he will now be a member of the baseball world once again when he joins FOX as a full-time analyst. For now, fans can look forward to the big events he will work.
