The World Series is officially here. Following two entertaining seven-game LCS series, the Arizona Diamondbacks have stunned the world and will face the Texas Rangers, who also shocked fans by making it this far. It should be a supremely entertaining series. Here's when it starts.
When does the World Series start?
The World Series 2023 starts on Friday, October 27. On that date, the Fall Classic will officially begin with both teams taking the field at 8:03 pm ET. After that, the games will be as follows:
- Saturday, Oct. 28
- World Series Game 2: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks 8:03 pm ET
- Monday, Oct. 30
- World Series Game 3: Diamondbacks vs. Rangers, 8:03 pm ET
- Tuesday, Oct. 31
- World Series Game 4: Diamondbacks vs. Rangers, 8:03 pm ET
- Wednesday, Nov. 1
- World Series Game 5*: Diamondbacks vs. Rangers, 8:03 pm ET
- Friday, Nov. 3
- World Series Game 6*: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks, 8:03 pm ET
- Saturday, Nov. 4
- World Series Game 7*: Rangers vs. Diamondbacks, 8:03 pm ET
All games of the Fall Classic will start at the same time: at 8:03 pm ET. After coming back to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies on the road, the Diamondbacks will now have to head to Globe Life Park to play against Texas.
Games 5, 6 and 7 are only to be played if necessary. It's a best of seven series, which means the first to four wins ends the series. If that happens in four or five games, the rest aren't needed.
The Texas Rangers ousted the Houston Astros, also in seven games. Led by Adolis Garcia and Corey Seager, the team has reached the World Series and will be looking to finally add the trophy to their franchise's historic mantle.
The Diamondbacks, on the other hand, are looking to add to their collection. It has been a long time since they went to the Fall Classic, though. They defeated the New York Yankees in seven games back in 2001 for their only title. They are searching for their second, and a surprising win considering they only won 84 regular season games.
