The Boston Red Sox will kick off their spring training campaign against the Northeastern Huskies on February 24, 2023. The game will be broadcast on the NESN channel and can also be streamed on the NESN app, fuboTV, SlingTV, and DIRECTV with a valid subscription for the aforementioned apps.
All of New England is covered by the regional sports network NESN, with the exception of Fairfield County, Connecticut. Through NESN National, the channel can be accessed outside of New England. For further details, see the NESN website.
As the Red Sox take the field for the first time in a given year, they've traditionally opened the season against the Huskies in an exhibition game. Boston is in warm-up mode as it gets ready for opening day, but fans will get to watch the 2023 squad play for the first time on Friday.

Last weekend, the Huskies' season began with a three-game road series against the UNC Greensboro Spartans. In order to win the series against the Spartans, the Huskies were able to win the first and third games. Despite giving up 16 runs in the final two games after recording a shutout in game one, the offense fared admirably, scoring 29 runs in total over the course of the three games.
The Boston Red Sox will look to redeem themselves in 2023
Rafael Devers' primary position was second last season, but with Masataka Yoshida most likely to bat first, Alex Cora will presumably want to avoid starting the order with two lefties.
With Adam Duvall, Justin Turner, Tristan Casas, and Enrique Hernandez filling out places four through six in the lineup, Enrique Hernandez could bat between Yoshida and Devers. That would maintain the right-left equilibrium, but they might not be frightful enough to defend Devers.
"When are we as a society going to start talking about the time Rafael Devers hit a home run off of Gerrit Cole and Nestor Cortes in the SAME game? And I’m supposed to be scared of the Yankees’ “aces”" - DeversEnjoyer
We are aware of the Red Sox bullpen's absolute catastrophic failure in 2022. The previous season didn't seem to have any well-defined duties for relievers. Things might change for the better in 2023.
Although there isn't much chance that Boston will win the AL East in 2023, there is potential given all the roster changes. Players like Triston Casas and Masataka Yoshida, who have high potential but remain uncertain, are abundant on the Red Sox. High expectations exist for both Yoshida and Casas, yet in 2023 they will both be rookies.
