Orlando Arcia was born in Anaco, Venezuela. Before reaching the major leagues, Arcia played in the Brewers' minor league system, where he excelled and won the Brewers' Minor League Player of the Year for 2015.

In 2016, he made his MLB debut and played 55 games with the Brewers, hitting .219/.273/.358 with four home runs and 17 RBIs. The following season, he played in 153 games, hitting .277/.324/.407, and had 15 home runs and 14 stolen bases.

After the 2020 season, the Brewers traded Arcia to the Braves for Patrick Weigel and Chad Sobotka. In 2021, he batted .198/.258/.309 with two home runs and 14 RBIs in 81 at-bats between the two teams. However, he played an essential role in helping the Atlanta Braves win the 2021 World Series, their first championship since 1995.

Arcia comes from a family of baseball players; his older brother, Oswaldo Arcia, has played in the MLB and is currently playing for the Cleburne Railroaders of the American Association of Professional Baseball. Arcia is also known for his exceptional fielding skills, which earned him the starting shortstop position with the Braves in the 2023 season.

In March 2023, Arcia won the starting shortstop job over Vaughn Grissom and Braden Shewmake during the Braves' spring training. On Opening Day, he signed a three-year contract extension worth $7.3 million with a team option for the 2026 season.

While Arcia's journey to the MLB wasn't easy, his hard work and dedication paid off, earning him a spot in the Braves' starting lineup. With his exceptional fielding skills and consistent performance at the plate, Arcia looks to be a valuable asset for the Braves in the coming years.
