Grayson Greiner, born on October 11, 1992, played college baseball for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2012 to 2014. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the third round of the 2014 draft and made his professional debut with the West Michigan Whitecaps. Greiner has since played for several teams, including the Erie SeaWolves, Toledo Mud Hens and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Greiner's MLB debut came in May 2018 when he was called up by the Detroit Tigers. He went on to play in 30 games that season and was eventually named the starting catcher for the Tigers in 2019. In 2020, Greiner played in 18 games for the Tigers, batting .118 with three home runs and eight RBIs.
