Joe Musgrove had to deal with a distraction, and his girlfriend, Arica Christensen, gave him extra motivation. Christensen has been employed by Booz Allen Hamilton as a data scientist.
"Joe Musgrove tells BenAndWoods that his girlfriend was the first person he called when he found out he made the All-Star team" - @973TheFanSD
She undoubtedly pleased her Booz Allen colleagues because, within a year, she went from being a junior data scientist to a mid-level consultant and then a senior consultant. She was once a senior designer at General Atomics.
In 2018, Arica enrolled in a three-month Manufacturing Engineering Internship with Raytheon Missiles and Defense in Tucson, Arizona, which marked the start of her professional career.
The Shirley-Marcos School of Engineering dean chose Arica to be an industry scholar so that she could network with the community and provide professional development through hands-on seminars, internships and industry site visits.
"Great profile one of BoozeAllen's great summer interns, Arica Christensen" - @tugiron
At the University of San Diego, Arica accepted a part-time position as a student technician in information technology services. She has performed above and beyond during her employment. She has a long list of accomplishments.
Joe Musgrove has his eyes firmly set on the 2023 season
The 30-year-old right-hander is predicted to replace Yu Darvish as the No. 2 pitcher in the rotation, and he will probably be accompanied by Blake Snell and Michael Wacha.
With a possible six-man rotation to open the season, the Padres' other projected starters include Nick Martinez, Seth Lugo and Adrian Morejon. With the Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Houston Astros over the course of seven MLB seasons, Musgrove has a 50-54 career record with a 3.79 ERA.
"Joe Musgrove is now poised to become a world record holder! He threw the fastest pitch on the coldest continent on Earth, an 86-mph fastball in Antarctica" - MLB
In addition to seeing the organization reward players like Xander Bogaerts, Yu Darvish and Fernando Tatis Jr., Musgrove recently inked a five-year, $100 million contract with San Diego. But he was aware that Machado would be the link connecting them all.
Joe Musgrove hopes to improve on his outstanding 2022 campaign, in which he earned a spot on his first All-Star team and posted 2.93 regular-season and 2.89 postseason ERAs in 18.2 innings pitched. The 30-year-old righty committed to playing for his hometown Friars through at least 2027.
