Paul Goldschmidt reached new heights in 2022. The 35-year-old St. Louis Cardinals first baseman hit 35 home runs and 115 RBIs, his best season in a decade.

Additionally, Goldschmidt laid claim to the longest hit streak in the entire league during the 2022 season. Between May 7 and June 3, he batted an eye-popping .424.

Paul Goldschmidt beat out teammate Nolan Arenado and San Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado to win the NL MVP Award in 2022, the first of his career. Goldschmidt had finished as an MVP runner-up in both 2013 and 2015.

Supporting Goldschmidt throughout his tremendous season has been his long-time girlfriend and now wife, Amy Glazier, whom he met during his freshman year at Texas State University.

Glazier played volleyball and golf in high school. She continued on playing the latter sport at Texas State while studying toward her degree in marketing. She played varsity golf and garnered the best stroke average on her team.

The pair reportedly met in the library before Amy knew anything about baseball or Goldschmidt's status as one of the best college players in the nation. The two became close friends and began a relationship soon thereafter.

After marrying Paul Goldschmidt, then a recent Arizona Diamondbacks draft pick in 2010, the two moved to Pheonix to start building a family. Paul Goldschmidt and his wife Amy Glazier currently have a son and a daughter.

In 2020, they sold their first home together in Scottsdale, Arizona, and decided to move to the Palm Beach, Florida area. The couple reportedly acquired the home from South African PGA golfer Louis Oosthuizen.

During his time with both the D-Backs and the St. Louis Cardinals, Goldschmidt and his wife have been involved in charity. Between the two cities, he has been active in charities and baseball clinics for youth.

Paul Goldschmidt is riding high in a pivotal contract year

Goldschmidt is 35, and has one year left on his contract with the Cards. It is quite possible that, should he demonstrate another season like 2022, some big teams like the New York Yankees could be offering him some serious cash to come and play for them.
