Tony Kemp: A look at Oakland A's second baseman career
Tony Kemp was born Anthony Allen Kemp on October 31, 1991. He grew up with his parents, Rick Kemp and Catherine Kemp, in Franklin, Tennessee, in the United States.
Kemp had a fabulous start to his collegiate baseball career with multiple match-winning efforts in 2011. He was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year at the end of the 2011 season.
He began the season with the Grizzlies before being called up to the big team in May. On May 17, 2016, he made his long-awaited MLB debut. Kemp was on the Astros' 40-man playoff roster. He saw no playoff action in the Astros' World Series victory but won his first championship.
The Oakland Athletics acquired Tony Kemp in a trade for Alfonso Rivas and has now fitted in nicely with the Athletics.
