Who is Vinny Capra?

Capra was born on July 7, 1996, in the United States, and attended Melbourne Central Catholic High School in Florida, where he helped lead the Hustlers to a state championship. He then played college baseball at Eastern Florida State College before transferring to the University of Richmond to play for the Richmond Spiders. In his final season with the Spiders in 2018, Capra hit .327 with five home runs, 41 RBIs, and nine stolen bases.

The Toronto Blue Jays selected Capra in the 20th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, and he began his professional career with the Short Season-A Vancouver Canadians, later being promoted to the Class-A Lansing Lugnuts. In 2021, he appeared in 79 games for the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Triple-A Buffalo Bisons, setting new career-highs with a .316 batting average, 10 home runs, and 58 RBIs.

Vinny Capra made his Major League Baseball debut in 2022 for Toronto and appeared in eight games, going 1-for-5 with two walks. He hit .283/.378/.403 with five home runs and 28 RBIs in 52 games with Triple-A Buffalo before undergoing left middle finger tendon surgery, which caused him to miss the latter part of the year.
