Armed Forces Day 2023 is fast approaching, and the MLB is preparing to celebrate the day in its own way.
Just like every year, it has been announced that all 30 teams of the MLB will be wearing green hats for the occasion.
On May 20, 2023, the MLB and all its teams will celebrate the life of the men, women, and their families who work hard to keep the nation safe.
For that reason, on May 19, May 20 and May 21, players, managers, coaches, and other personnel of all 30 MLB teams are set to don one-of-a-kind service-inspired caps developed by New Era.
They will feature the respective club logos on the caps. They will also feature a matching pair of camouflage socks for players. Finally, there will also be base jewels and lineup cards that will have a special Armed Forces Logo on them.
MLB's charitable works and military support programs on Armed Forces Day 2023
MLB has organized various charitable works and military support programs on Armed Forces Day 2023.
Firstly, 100% of the royalties received from sales of apparel will be donated to charities to support military servicemen. These will also benefit organizations like Blue Star Families, Code of Support Foundation, Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), The Mission Continues, USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team and Wounded Warrior Project.
Each MLB team will also receive $20,000 for supporting an event, organization or initiation aimed to help the American Army. Moreover, the MLB will continue its partnership with American Corporate Partners (ACP) to help service members transit in their workplaces.
Finally, youth from TAPS can participate in the clinic on Showcase Diamond at PLAY BALL Park during MLB All-Star Week in Seattle. It's expected that these efforts from the MLB will help in supporting the army personnel involved in saving the country from threats.
