“Why are they not saying anything about Aaron Judge? He tried to hit me” - When Miguel Cabrera called out MLB for being unfair with their suspension

Late into the 2017 season, Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees found themselves in Detroit taking on Miguel Cabrera and the Tigers. The two clubs had some words earlier in the season over a hit-by-pitch, so there was already some tension in the air.

Gary Sanchez had an excellent series and hit a home run off Detroit starter Michael Fulmer. During his next at-bat, Fulmer drilled Sanchez. An inning later, Tommy Kahnle threw behind Cabrera.

Cabrera took exception to the pitch and he and Austin Romine had some words. It was only a few words before Cabrera shoved Romine and the two got after it. Afterward, Cabrera was suspended for seven games for his involvement but was critical of his punishment, via ESPN.

"Watch the video. See the people throw punches. See the people go after me when I was on the floor. I don't ask that you give me fewer games. I don't care. I take responsibility. But come on," said Cabrera.

Cabrera wanted to see the league punish everyone that was involved. He believes they missed a few, pointing specifically at Aaron Judge.

"My point is, why are they not saying anything about Judge? He tried to hit me, go after me on the floor. They didn't suspend him. There was a lot of people going after me and they didn't get a suspension" Cabrera said.

The league issued Miguel Cabrera the largest fine for starting the fight. Gary Sanchez received a four-game suspension for his role and Austin Romine received a two-game suspension for the fight.

Tigers pitcher Alex Wilson was suspended four games for throwing at Todd Frazier after warnings were issued. Detroit manager Brad Ausmus also received a one-game suspension for the actions of Wilson.

There were certainly more players than just those listed who were involved, like Aaron Judge. However, his role was reactionary while the others had a more firsthand role.

Sanchez, who was not ejected, came up to the plate to tie the game in the seventh inning. While cooler heads prevailed, Detroit would eventually have the last laugh.

They scored four unanswered runs winning the game 10-6. It was one of the most intense brawls the league has seen over the last few seasons and one both fanbases will not forget.
