On Saturday, LA Dodgers catcher Will Smith's wife, Cara, celebrated her 31st birthday. The two-time All-Star took to Instagram to post a heartfelt message dedicated to his better half. He also posted a series of snaps, one from their wedding day and the other featuring their daughter, Charlotte.
"Happy birthday!! Love you! @caramartinellsmith" Smith captioned his Instagram post
Will Smith first met Cara Martinell when the pair were students at the University of Louisville. They eventually announced their engagement in 2019 and tied the knot the following year. Currently, the couple has two daughters together: Charlotte, born in 2022, and Layton, born in 2024.
Smith had a strong 2024 campaign, finishing the season with a .248 batting average, 20 homers and 78 RBIs. Cara regularly turned up to Dodger Stadium to support her husband.

The Dodgers enjoyed a fantastic 2024 campaign, winning their division, the NL West, before winning the NL pennant and their eighth World Series, beating their AL counterparts, the New York Yankees.
Looking back at the 2024 campaign, catcher Will Smith's wife, Cara, took to Instagram to talk about how, just like the players, the victories of the recently concluded season will be cherished by their partners as well.
"From opening day until the very end of postseason … here are the ladies behind the boys in blue!! The bond is one of the most special and honestly very hard to describe! New faces and old faces each year, we all step up for each other in ways that only we know how!
"Celebrating our guys, each other and also being shoulders to lean on when things aren’t going how we thought! This past month has shown me how truly amazing this particular group is…a family away from family🫶🏼🤍" Cara Martinell Smith captioned her Instagram post
With success immortalized in the history books, Dodgers players can look to spend plenty of time with their respective partners, before gearing up to do it all over again in 2025.
