Ohtani's post elicited heartfelt wishes and reactions from the wives of his teammates, including Will Smith's wife, Cara Martinell; James Outman's wife, Dasha Outman; and Joe Kelly's wife, Ashley Kelly.

The reactions show the happiness of the MLB community for Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko, as they look to embrace parenthood.
The year 2024 as a whole for Shohei Ohtani
On the field, the year 2024 was historic and one to never forget for Shohei Ohtani.
He headed into the season after signing what was a record-breaking, 10-year deal worth $700 million with the LA Dodgers.
Ohtani then proved his worth to his new team as a player with his solid play throughout the season.
Despite not being able to pitch as he recovered from Tommy John surgery, he made his bat talk as a designated hitter. Ohtani hit .310/.390/.646 with 130 RBIs in 159 games. He became the first player in MLB history to achieve 50 home runs (54) and 50 stolen bases (59) in a single season.
Besides that, Ohtani won the World Series as well as his third MVP award (his first in the National League) along with a 2024 Silver Slugger Award. And a few days before the announcement regarding his and his wife, Mamiko's on-the-way baby, Ohtani won his third AP Male Athlete of the Year award.
Meanwhile, Ohtani will be focused on the upcoming season. And off the field he will be preparing to welcome his and his wife's first baby.
