William Contreras has solidified his reputation as one of the premier catchers in baseball. The Milwaukee Brewers star was recently named as the number one catcher in MLB Network's Top 10 rankings.

In a recent Instagram story, his older brother, St. Louis Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras, expressed his excitement for William's achievement.

In a caption written in Spanish, Willson penned a heartfelt message to his younger brother:

"I always knew it, and now you did it! The sky is the limit. May God continue to give you good health so you could reap your successes. I love you, brother," said Willson.

William Contreras has been on fire since his transfer from the Braves to the Brewers. He won the Silver Slugger Award award in both 2023 and 2024, earned his second All-Star selection, and was named to the All-MLB First Team.

His sensational season also earned him a spot at the top of MLB Network's list of elite catchers, surpassing Adley Rutschman, Will Smith, Yainer Diaz and Cal Raleigh.

Brothers Willson and William Contreras exchange lineup cards

Rivalry is what keeps sports alive. However, occasionally, a heartwarming moment can ease the tension and adrenaline between opponents. This was exactly what happened during the Apr. 29, 2022 game between the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves.

Before the contest, Willson and William Contreras shared a touching moment of brotherly love as they exchanged lineup cards, shook hands and embraced at the plate.

Willson, then playing for the Cubs, was emotional as he interacted with his brother William, who was then with the Braves. The two grew up together in Puerto Cabello, Carabobo, Venezuela, where they reportedly played baseball in the streets using crumpled pieces of paper as makeshift balls.

Years later, they finally meet in the majors. Willson made his professional debut first, appearing for the Cubs on June 17, 2016. The older Contreras sibling went on to become a three-time All-Star and a member of the famed 2016 World Series-winning Cubs team.

William made his debut for the Braves on July 24, 2020. Along with his current accolades, he also earned a World Series title with the Braves in 2021.
