World Baseball Classic fans got a first-hand experience of what MLB fans deal with all year when Angel Hernandez was behind the plate for the game between Team Venezuela and Team Nicaragua.In the first inning, Team Nicaragua had two runners on with no outs when Angel Hernandez rang up a batter on a pitch that looked inside. One of his most famous calls came in 2013. Adam Rosales of the Oakland Athletics hit what seemed to be a walk-off home run for his squad but was called a double instead. The tournament will only improve as teams advance to the knockout rounds and the stakes increase.Team Venezuela have looked like one of the more dominant teams so far. They are 3-0 after beating Team Nicaragua on Tuesday and sit alone at the top of Pool D.Samurai Japan are the only other undefeated team in the tournament. Japan are 4-0 and sit at the top of Pool B.With pool play coming to a close, it will be interesting to see which teams advance. This tournament has been a lot closer than most might have thought. Expect even tighter games going forward until a champion is crowned.
