The World Baseball Classic favorites are set ahead of the tournament. With just about three weeks remaining before the highly anticipated tournament kicks off, teams are separating themselves from the pack. The rosters are still getting more players all the time, but a few teams look poised to capture the trophy.
The World Series Classic favorites are led by the Dominican Republic, which sports a dominant roster. They're +220 to win it all, per FanDuel.
They are led by the following MLB stars:
- Manny Machado
- Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
- Sandy Alcantara
- Jeremy Pena
- Teoscar Hernandez
- Juan Soto
- Julio Rodriguez
- Rafael Devers
- Diego Castillo
- Cristian Javier
- Gregory Soto
Their roster has MLB stars from top to bottom. Don't count out the United States, though. They have the same odds of winning it all as of now, despite losing Nestor Cortes Jr. to injury.
They're led by:
- Mike Trout
- Pete Alonso
- Kyle Tucker
- Trea Turner
- Paul Goldschmidt
- Nolan Arenado
- Mookie Betts
- Lance Lynn
- Clayton Kershaw
- Ryan Pressly
Each roster is filled with talent. The United States is arguably the much more dynamic offense, but they can't compete with the Dominican Republic's pitching.
More World Baseball Classic favorites: Can Japan pull it off?
Among the World Baseball Classic favorites, Japan is the most interesting team. They have arguably the best baseball player in the world in Shohei Ohtani, and they're +300 to win it all.
It's not just the Ohtani show, though. They'll also feature Yu Darvish, Munetaka Murakami, Roki Sasaki, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and recent MLB import Masataka Yoshida.
These three teams are the clear World Baseball Classic favorites. Team Venezuela sre led by Salvador Perez, Jose Altuve, Luis Arraez, Gleyber Torres, Eugenio Suarez, Ronald Acuna Jr., Pablo Lopez and Ranger Suarez. They are +1400 to win it all.
At +1600, Team Puerto Rico has an outside shot at winning the WBC this year. They will receive help from Edwin Diaz, Jose Berrios, Francisco Lindor, Javier Baez, Eddie Rosario and Yadier Molina.
Each of these teams could be World Baseball Classic favorites and they each have a real shot at winning. It will be tough to dethrone the United States, though.
