During the WBS, there will be a few World Baseball Classic stadiums where games are played. Naturally, the tournament is worldwide, so there needs to be a lot of different stadiums. Teams who continue to progress will move and play in different places, but they will start out fairly spread across the globe.
World Baseball Classic stadiums include the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung, Taiwan. This is where Group A's games will be held.
Group B's WBC stadium is the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. This stadium has featured MLB games before.
Group C's host stadium is Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. This is where the Arizona Diamondbacks play and Team USA will play their group stage games here.
Group D plays at LoanDepot Park, the MLB home of the Miami Marlins. Sandy Alcantara, the Marlins' ace and reigning Cy Young winner, will play in his home stadium for the Dominican Republic.
World Baseball Classic Stadiums: Where will non-group stage games be?
When the top two teams from Group A and Group B meet in the first bout of the quarterfinals, they will play in the Tokyo Dome. Two games will be played there and a winner will emerge.
Miami's loanDepot Park will play home to the quarterfinals between Group C and Group D's top two teams. The winner will emerge and stay there. The host for the finals is also loanDepot Park.
This could potentially give Alcantara the opportunity to pitch for his home country in his home stadium with a world title for the Dominican Republic, the current betting favorites.
