On Sunday, MLB analyst Nathan Gordon posted about the New York Yankees fans' attitude toward Aaron Boone. Boone has come under fire after two consecutive losses at the hands of the LA Dodgers in the World Series.

Many fans have said that Boone's decisions at key moments have led to the Yankees' disastrous start to the Fall Classic, none more so than when he sent Nestor Cortes, a pitcher who has been absent due to injury for the past month, to the mound to face the Dodgers' top order with the game on the line in the tenth inning of the World Series opener. Ultimately, the decision proved costly as Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam to win the game.

Gordon took to X on Saturday to talk about how the Yankees fans' calls to fire Boone are not justified, given all that he has accomplished with the team throughout the season.

"Yankee fans b*tching about getting Aaron Boone fired after two losses when he manages a bunch of stars well, handles the tough NY media well, and has led his team to the World Series basically without a hiccup is why they're the most ridiculous fanbase." -Nathan Gordon on X.

Aaron Boone reflects on Game 1, talks about the decision he regrets the most

The New York Yankees' suffered a heartbreaking 6-3 loss to the LA Dodgers in Game 1 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium on Friday. Following the defeat, questions were raised over some of the calls made by skipper Aaron Boone, with many experts and fans believing that he missed a trick with numerous decisions, especially in terms of managing his pitching staff.

Talking to the press, Boone reflected on the game, and when asked about any potential regrets, he said that the only thing he would have done differently is potentially keeping closer Luke Weaver on the mound longer.

"Do I send Weave (Luke Weaver) out with the lead in the ninth, or in the tenth," Boone said (0:14). "That's the one that certainly I can make a case for in my head. I worry a little bit about that third up with him, and where does that leave us if that doesn't go according to plan, and I haven't done the third up necessarily with him. So that's the one. But the other ones, I would double down on."

When given the opportunity, Weaver has performed well for the Yankees and has been their closer of choice for the entire postseason. He has a 2.25 ERA with 12 strikeouts so far.

With a mountain to climb against the Dodgers, Yankees fans will be hoping that coming back home, where the Bronx Bombers have been formidable all season, will help spark the fight-back that culminates in a 28th World Series title.
